此外,在winter season, we also need to pay attention to the humidity inside the hive. Dry air can cause dehydration and even death for our bees. To combat this, we use a technique called "mouse guard" - a small entrance reducer that prevents cold air from entering while still allowing warm air to escape.

Winter is a time of rest for many creatures, but not for bees. They continue to work hard during this period, maintaining their hive and keeping themselves warm by clustering together in the center of the hive. We must ensure they have enough food and water within reach.

As I stand outside my apiary on a winter morning, I am filled with awe at these tiny creatures' resilience and determination. Despite harsh conditions, they continue to thrive under my care. Winter may be tough on us all, but it's also an opportunity for growth and appreciation of nature's beauty.

I look forward to another year of learning from these incredible insects as I tend my hives through every season - including winter!
